Men's Basketball Falls to Undefeated CSI, 86-62

Brooklyn, NY---The Brooklyn College men's basketball team dropped their second-to-last home game this evening, falling to the College of Staten Island, 86-62, in conference play.  BC drops to 5-18 overall and 3-11 in CUNYAC.  CSI improved to 18-6 and remain undefeated at 15-0 in CUNYAC.  The Bulldogs will play their final home game of the regular season on Friday against John Jay.  It will be the Bulldogs' Senior Night.  Tip-off is set for 7:15 pm following the women's game, which tips off at 5:00 pm.

The Dolphins grabbed full control of the contest in the second half, finishing the contest with their largest lead of the game.  Brooklyn cut the Dolphin lead to 13 points early in the final 20 minutes of the game, but that is as close as they would get as CSI had a response to BC bucket.

Both teams exchanged baskets through the first eight minutes of the first half until the Dolphins went on a quick 6-0 run that gave them the 28-19 advantage with 10:20 to go in the opening twenty minutes.  Brooklyn would come back later in the half, cutting the CSI lead to three points following a made jumper by junior guard Niv Konfino.  However, the Dolphins closed out the half with a 10-0 run that gave them a 51-38 halftime lead.

CSI was lights out in the first half, shooting 58.33% on a large number of high percentage shots.  The Dolphins shot 47.3% to the Bulldogs' 36.2% for the game.

CSI senior guard Frank Schettino finished with a triple-double on the evening with 14 points, 14 assists, and ten rebounds.

The Bulldogs were led by junior guard Niv Konfino's 23 points.  Senior center Enees Nikovic finished with a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds.
