Men's Volleyball Rolls to Non-Conference Win Over St. Joseph's (Brooklyn)

BROOKLYN COLLEGE Brooklyn, NY----The Brooklyn College men's Volleyball team rolled to their second win in a row in two days, shutting out St. Joseph's College Brooklyn, 3-0, this evening at the West Quad Center.  BC improves to 3-3 overall with the win.  St. Joe's drops to 0-8 to start the season.  Brooklyn will have a day to prepare for another non-conference match-up at Sarah Lawrence on Friday.  

Junior middle hitter Moaz Ali Choudhary served up seven aces to go along with three kills and a block to finish with 10.5 points on the evening.  

The Bulldogs opened the match with a 9-2 run before scoring nine straight to end the first set for the convincing 25-6 victory.  

St. Joe's made things a little more interesting in the second set, coming within three points halfway through the game, but a 7-1 Bulldog run put the set out of reach of the Bears.  Brooklyn would would go on to win the second set, 25-15.  

In the third set, Brooklyn jumped out early to a commanding 13-2 lead.  The Bears never put a dent in the lead for the rest of the set.  Brooklyn closed out the match with a 25-9 victory in the final set.  

Sophomore Vaughn Titus led the Bulldogs with 13 points on eight kills and five service aces.  Junior setter Eddie Peng recorded ten assists on the  evening.  

Brooklyn will have a two-week road stretch before returning home on February 20 to host a CUNYAC tri-match against CSI and Medgar Evers.
