Brooklyn, NY---The Brooklyn College men's volleyball team improved to 5-1 in CUNYAC this evening, shutting out CCNY, 3-0, on Senior Night at the West Quad Center.  BC improves to 12-7 overall with the conference win.  CCNY drops to 7-11 and 1-5 with the loss.  The Bulldogs will be on the road for the remainder of the season starting with a conference match with Lehman on Tuesday at 7:00 pm.

Senior outside hitter Rudy Zhao led BC with nine kills and four digs.  Fellow senior Seva Tsupa finished with a solid overall performance with a kill, a service ace, two block assists, an assist, and pair of digs.

The second set was the key for the Bulldogs this evening.  Falling behind 3-0 in the second after rolling towards the end of the first set with a 25-18 win, the Bulldogs clawed their way back to tie the match 7-7 early on.  The teams traded points throughout with CCNY clinging to a 20-19 lead late in the game.  The Bulldogs would then go on a 5-0 started by Zhao kill to take the lead for good.  Zhao would end the second set with a kill for the 25-21 victory.

Brooklyn never trailed in the third set, picking up four points towards the middle of the game to extend their lead to 13-7 and a comfortable cushion to close out the match without much of a threat from the Beavers.  Sophomore outside hitter Vaughn Titus ended the match with a service following a Zhao kill for a 25-15 victory in the third set.

Junior setter Eddie Peng set for a team-high 11 assists.  Junior middle blocker Moaz Ali Choudhary finished the match with four blocks.  Freshman middle hitter Ahmed Moawad finished with five kills and three blocks.
