Game 1 Recap
The local visitor unloaded for 13 runs in their first at-bat. BC rookie right-hander
Anna Curran, would settle in the next two innings, only giving up a run. The Bears added three runs in the fourth inning.
Brooklyn avoided the shutout thanks in-part to a lead-off single hit by freshman center fielder,
Leslie Lima. After stealing second, Lima advanced to third on single hit by sophomore catcher
Shakira Feliciano. Junior outfielder Breanna Maresca drove Lima in with an RBI single.
Curran would be credited for the loss. Four Bulldogs singled in defeat. St. Joe's Brooklyn's Victoria Mahoney picked up her fourth win of the season, pitching three innings of perfect softball.
Game 2 Recap
St. Joe's Brooklyn jumped out to another 13-0 lead in the first two and a half innings of softball. Brooklyn would get themselves on the board in the bottom of the third inning. Lima would be the Bulldogs' first base runner of the inning with a walk. She would then steal second to put herself in scoring position. Feliciano would then walk two batters later before junior third baseman
Nicole Boudouris stepped to the plated and knocked a 2 RBI triple that scored Lima and Feliciano.
The Bears responded with five unanswered runs in the fourth and fifth innings to end the contest in five innings. Junior
Breanna Maresca would be credited for her first loss of her BC career in the circle. The Bears' Theresa Armano picked up the win to improve to 2-1 on the season.
