Brooklyn, NY---With non-stop action until the final point, the Brooklyn College men's volleyball team will advance to the CUNYAC semifinal round after defeating No. 5 seed John Jay, 3-0, in tonight's quarterfinal at the West Quad Center. The Bloodhounds end the season with a 12-16 record. Brooklyn improved to 14-11 with the postseason victory. The No. 4 Bulldogs will now take on No. 1 Hunter in one of the two semifinal matches at Hunter on Thursday.
Up a set, the Bulldogs found themselves behind 22-18 before a momentous 5-0 run that gave BC the 23-22 advantage in the final stages of the second. John Jay tied the match on the ensuing serve by way of a Krystian Surdel kill. However, the Bulldogs responded with back-to-back kills that gave BC a 2-0 lead while seeming to deflate the Bloodhounds after they seemed to have tilt the momentum in their direction.
Brooklyn rolled in the third set, jumping out to an 18-6 lead capped by a,
Ahmed Moawad kill. The Bloodhounds showed some fight, cutting the Brooklyn lead to 22-14 a little later in the set. Following a John Jay service error, BC sophomore outside hitter Titus Vaughn gave Brooklyn a 24-14 advantage with a kill. Senior middle hitter

The freshman middle hitter Moawad was impressive this evening, leading the Bulldogs with 11 kills with a .625 hitting percentage. Senior outside hitter
Rudy Zhao finished with 10.5 points on the evening including 8 kills. He was also all of the floor for BC with a match-high 11 digs. Freshman middle blocker,
