Brooklyn, NY---The Brooklyn College softball team won their third and fourth straight games this evening, taking both of a non-conference double bill with the University of Valley Forge. BC shut out UVF 9-0 in the first game of the evening and closed out the sweep with an 8-6 win in the second. Tonight's wins gave the Bulldogs a home-and-home season sweep over the Patriots, having taken two at UVF back on April 2nd. Brooklyn moves to 6-16 with the wins while the Patriots drop to 3-23 with the losses. The Bulldogs continue their non-conference schedule at Fairleigh Dickinson on Thursday. BC returns to conference play at home on Saturday against Hunter.
In Game 1, sophomore pitcher Uena Xharo pitched all five innings for her first shutout of the season, improving to 4-7 on the season. She gave four hits and struck out four while facing 21 batters.

Angelica Cornier put the Bulldogs on the board with a three run homer in the bottom of the first inning, driving home junior first baseman

Shakira Feliciano. Brooklyn continued to open the game up in the bottom of the third inning beginning with a RBI single hot by junior infielder
Nicole Boudouris that scored freshman center fielder
Leslie Lima. Maresca would then reach on an error that scored Feliciano. Maresca eventually scored herself on an error by the catcher for the 7-0 lead. Brooklyn tacked on two more runs in the bottom of the fourth starting with a Lima double that she turned into a run on couple of UVF mishaps in the outfield. Maresca drove in the in the final run of the game with a RBI single that scored Feliciano.
Feliciano was perfect at the plate in Game 1 going 3-3 with a pair of doubles. She also scored three of the Bulldogs' nine runs.
In Game 2 with the Bulldogs trailing the Patriots, 4-3, BC would retake the lead for good on a 2-RBI double hit by sophomore
Brianna Preston in the bottom of the fifth inning. Maresca and Cornier crossed home on the play. The BC offense continued to roll in the next inning as they added three more runs including a solo homer hit by Maresca. Freshman pitcher
Anna Curran picked up her second win of the season, pitching all seven innings while facing 33 batters, only charged with one of the Patriots' six runs.
Feliciano had another standout performance with her bat, going 3-4. Maresca and Cornier were both 2-3.
