Bryn Athyn, PA---The BC women's volleyball team began the Mateusz Gotowicki era with a pair of victories this afternoon at the Bryn Athyn College tri-match. In their first match of the day, the Bulldogs would take down Rosemont College, 3-1 (27-25, 15-25, 25-12, 25-21), before defeating the host, 3-0 (25-11, 25-11, 25-23).
Game Notes vs. Rosemont
-The Bulldogs erased an early 9-3 deficit, in the first set, tying the match 10-10.
-Trailing 23-17 late in the first set, BC rallied for five straight to cut the Rosemont lead to one. Rosemont would lead 24-22 before Brooklyn five of the next six points to take the set.
-After Rosemont tied the match with a 25-15 victory, BC responded with a convincing 25-12 win in the third set.
-The teams would battle through most of the deciding set before BC closed out the match with six straight scores.
-Junior outside hitter
Michaela Appel led the Bulldogs with 15 kills on 38 attacks. Senior outside hitter
Sarina Rozek added 14 kills.
-Freshman setter
Kate Meltsin recorded 29 assists for the match.
Game Notes vs. Bryn Athyn
-BC cruised to back-to-back 25-11 victories in the first two sets of the match.
-The host put a fight in the third set, but the Bulldogs grabbed a 24-19 lead before BA's late push to eventually close out the match.
-Rozek served up nine aces in the match. She also led the Bulldogs with seven kills for team-high on the afternoon.
-Meltsin added 13 assists for a total of 42 for the day.

-The Bulldogs will host their home opener on Thursday, 9/7, against Purchase College. Opening serve is slated for 7PM.
