Box Score New York, NY---After three nail-biting sets, the Brooklyn College women's volleyball team pulled off a big CUNYAC win this evening, defeating Baruch College, 3-0 (25-22, 25-21, 25-22) for the first time in program history. Brooklyn improves to 8-5 overall and 4-0 in CUNYAC. The Bearcats dropped to 7-6 and 3-1 in conference play. Brooklyn will be back in action on Saturday in a New Jersey City University tri-match where they will take on the host and Centenary University.
Match Notes
-Already leading 19-18 late in the first game, the Bulldogs used a 3-0 rally to take a 22-18 lead. Baruch clawed their way back to 23-22 before Brooklyn closed out the game with back-to-back kills.
-Trailing 8-4 early in the second game, the Bulldogs used a 6-0 run to take a 10-8 lead. Already leading 16-13 halfway through the second game, Brooklyn rallied for five straight that made the difference. Baruch made a desperate late run to cut the Bulldog lead to 24-21, but Brooklyn senior outside hitter
Sarina Rozek, ended the game with a kill.
-Brooklyn rolled early in the third game, jumping out to a 7-0 lead to start. Baruch countered with a 5-0 run of their own. The game would remain very close until the very end. Leading 23-22, the Bulldogs closed out the match with two straight scores sparked by a kill put away by junior outside hitter
