Brooklyn, NY---In an intense battle throughout, the Brooklyn College men's soccer team earned their second conference win of the season this afternoon, pulling out a key 2-1 overtime victory over the College of Staten Island. With 6:12 remaining in the first extra period, freshman midfielder Azizjon Ziyaev scored his second free kick goal of the match for the game-winner. BC improves to 3-6-2 overall and 2-2 in CUNYAC with the victory. CSI moves to 8-4 and 3-2 with the conference loss. Brooklyn continues conference play on the road against Medgar Evers on Wednesday at Aviator Sports Complex in Brooklyn.
Match Notes
-Despite the Dolphins being the busier offensive club in the first half, out-shooting the Bulldogs 11-7, BC got themselves on the board first in the 26th minute on a Ziyaev free goal from about 20 yards out that curled in.
-Brooklyn head into halftime with the 1-0 advantage.
-The Dolphins tied the match in the 81st on a converted penalty kick knocked by Vasyl Fedortsi following a Brooklyn foul in the box.
-CSI had a shot just go wide before the end of regulation.
-Ziyaev crushed the game winner over a wall of CSI players from the top of the box for his team-leading fourth goal of the season.

Utku Tanritanir made some key plays in goal today, finishing with four saves while facing 18 shots in almost 94 minutes in goal.
