Box Score 2 Jersey City, NJ----After a big 3-0 conference shutout of Baruch on Thursday, the Brooklyn College women's volleyball team won their second and third matches in a row today, winning both matches at a New Jersey City University tri-match this afternoon. In their first match of the day, the Bulldogs cruised to a 3-0 (25-12,2 5-12, 25-16) shutout of Centenary University. BC closed out the day with a dramatic 3-2 (17-25, 25-22, 18-25, 25-14, 16-14). The Bulldogs improve to 10-5 with the victories.

-The Bulldogs dominated the match from the opening serve, jumping out to a 10-4 lead.
-BC continued their run in the second game, taking a 7-2 lead before going on a 9-0 run to take a commanding 16-5 lead.
-Centenary made one last stand in the third game, keeping a close distance later in the game, pulling within two points of the Bulldogs. However, BC closed out the match with a seven-point rally three kills put away by junior outside hitter
Michaela Appel.
-Appel led the match with 15 kills. Senior outside hitter, Sarina Rozek, added 11 kills.
-Freshman setter
Claudia Moi served up six aces. She also led the match with 17 assists.
-Rozek and Appel were also defensive stalwarts finishing with 11 digs apiece.

-The host came out of their corner swinging, taking a 16-4 lead to start the match. Brooklyn tried, but was not able to dig themselves out of the early hole.
-BC bounced back in the second game, and kept a slim lead through most of the game. With the Bulldogs leading 23-17, the Gothic Knights made the game interesting by going a 4-0 run to cut BC's lead to two. Rozek would end NJCU's hope of a comeback with a game-winning kill.
-NJCU responded in the third game, stringing together three to four point rallies consistently for a 25-18 win.
-With their backs to the wall, Brooklyn cruised in the fourth game, jumping out to a 15-4 lead and never looking back.
-The deciding game would go back and forth until the final points. It would be Rozek again who rose to the occasion, putting away back-to-back kills to end the match in the Bulldogs' favor.
-Rozek finished with a match-high 22 kills. Appel finished with 17 kills.

Jailene Paredes served for four aces.
-Freshman setter
Kate Meltsin led BC with 20 assists.
