Brooklyn, NY---Trailing by as many as 14 points in the second half, the Brooklyn College men's basketball team willed themselves to a 69-67 comeback win over Medgar Evers tonight to improve to 2-0 in the New Year. BC moves to 2-10 overall and 2-2 in CUNYAC with the victory. Medgar Evers drops to 3-8 and 1-3 in the conference with the loss. Brooklyn continues conference action at CCNY on Tuesday, January 9th.
How It Happened
-With the Bulldogs down 65-62, BC wing Henry O'Reilly would tie the game with a three-point make with 1:50 left in regulation. After forcing a Cougar turnover, freshman forward, Alpha Bah, would give the Bulldogs the lead for good with a lay-in and a free-throw. MEC cut the lead to one, 68-67, with just under a minute to play, but following a Bah free-throw make, BC would stop the Cougars on their final defensive stance.
-Trailing by seven points with 7:01 left in regulation, the Bulldogs would go on a 7-0 run to tie the game, 62-62, on a fast-break lay-in finished by senior guard Ben Batash with 4;29 left in the game.
-Brooklyn had control early in the game, jumping out to a 17-8 lead in the first 6;20 of action before Medgar Evers battled back, heading into halftime with a ten-point, 40-30 advantage.
