Brooklyn, NY---In a hard-fought CUNYAC match, the Brooklyn College men's soccer team fell to the College of Staten Island, 1-0, this afternoon at Brooklyn College Field. BC drops to 2-11 and 2-2 in CUNYAC while the Dolphins improved to 9-3 and remain undefeated in conference play with a 5-0 mark. The Bulldogs continue their conference schedule against Baruch College on Saturday, October 6. Kickoff is set for 10:00 am on Randall's Island Field #70.
A scoreless match through the first 72 minutes of action, the Dolphins' Joe Bolella delivered the game-winning header on a free kick assist place by Ryan Layman from the right flank.
CSI was the aggressor offensively outshooting the Bulldogs 19-3 for the match including 10-1 on goal. BC junior forward,
Julian Calame-Mars, finished with two of the Bulldogs' shots including the one on goal.
Brooklyn goalie,
Balint Barabas, had a strong afternoon against his former club, making a number of key plays away from the goal along with finishing with nine saves.
