Bulldogs Head Home With a Win Over Buffalo State, 86-83

Buffalo, NY---The Brooklyn College men's basketball team will come home with a split this weekend, defeating host, Buffalo State, 86-83, in the final game of the Coles Classic.  Playing their third game in four days, the Bulldogs improve to 3-1 with the victory while the Bengals dropped to 0-2 to start the season.  Junior guards, Michael Tesoriero and Anthony McClean were named to the All-Tournament Team for their efforts in both games played.  The Bulldogs are back on the road on Tuesday to take on Centenary University.  Tip-off is set for 6:00 pm in Hackettstown, NJ.  

How It Happened
-After jumping out to a 7-0 lead on the Bengals to start the contest, the Bulldogs found themselves trailing trailing Buffalo State by as many as eight points with twelve minutes left in the first half.  A 9-0 run would give Brooklyn the lead back with 9:55 left.  Brooklyn took the lead for good at the 6:10 mark in the first half. 
-Leading 45-39 at halftime, the Bulldogs scored the first two buckets of the second half to lead by as many as 10 points in the final 20 minutes of regulation.  The home team didn't go away, cutting the Bulldog lead to 84-83 with 38 second left in the game.  On the ensuing possession, McClean knocked down a jumper with 17 ticks on the clock to give BC the 86-83 advantage.  Buffalo State's three-point attempt with five seconds left didn't go. 
-Brooklyn shot 49.3% from the field to the home team's 39.7%. The Bulldogs shot a stellar 13-16 from the free-throw line as a team. 

Leading the Bulldogs
-Tesoriero and McClean finished with 17 points a piece.  The duo combined for 10 assists with Tesoriero finishing with a team-high six for the game.  Tesoriero also grabbed six rebounds off of the bench.  
-Junior forward Ilir Ndreci was huge off of the bench finishing with 13 points and 10 rebounds for his first BC career double-double.  He was perfect from both the field (5-5) and the charity stripe (3-3)! 
-Sophomore guard Noah Shy finished with 13 points and a team-high two steals. 

Leading the Bengals 
-Dom Grayer scored a game-high 18 points while making 4-12 from beyond the arc. 
-Kay Grant finished with a 15-point 15-rebound double-double.
