Men's Hoops Pulls Out Another Close Win on the Road Over Centenary, 80-76

Hackettstown, NJ---Already making a case to be called the 'Cardiac Kids', the Brooklyn College men's basketball team pulled out another close victory on the road this evening, defeating Centenary College, 80-76.  Brooklyn improves to 4-1 with the win while the Cyclones dropped to 0-3 with the non-conference loss.  The Bulldogs return home on Wednesday, November 28th, for a non-conference match-up with Keystone College.  Tip-off is set for 7:00 pm at the West Quad Center. 

How It Happened

-After leading 70-65 with 4:16 left in the game, the Bulldogs would find themselves trailing the home team, 72-71, less than two minutes later.  Junior guard Orri Cohen would give Brooklyn the lead for good with a huge three-point make on the ensuing possession.  Centenary cut BC's lead back down to two with 1:24 left in the game, but junior guard, Jordan Wright, responded with a three-point make with :46 remaining to give the Bulldogs enough room to close out the dramatic finish. 
-Brooklyn made the most of their opportunities from the field especially in the second half, shooting 64.29% in the final twenty minutes. The Bulldogs shot 55.6% from beyond the arc for the game to the Cyclones' 47.8%. 
-Five Bulldogs reached double-figures in scoring for the evening. 
-The Bulldogs led for the majority of the contest taking their largest lead (9) of the game with 2:44 left in the first half.  Centenary closed out the first half with an 8-2 run to cut BC's lead to 37-34 at halftime.  

Leading the Bulldogs

-Wright scored a game-high 25 points on 10-13 from the field including 5-6 from beyond the arc.  
-Sophomore guard, Noah Shy, added 17 points on 7-11 from the field.  
-Junior guard, Michael Tesoriero, finished with a versatile 11 points, nine assists, six rebounds, and three steals. 
-Junior forward, Jade Spencer, flirted with another double-double finishing with 11 points and nine rebounds.  

Leading the Cyclones

-Michael Young scored a team-high 20 points off of the bench. 
-Larry Joseph added 14 points and nine rebounds.
