Hoboken, NJ---Deadlocked at halftime, 29-29, the Brooklyn College men's basketball team would succumb to an early second half run eventually falling to Stevens Tech on the road in non-conference action this evening. The loss snaps a four-game win-streak for the Bulldogs moving them to 6-2 overall on the season. Stevens improved to 6-2 with the victory. Brooklyn continues its non-conference schedule at home against the College of New Rochelle this Thursday, December 6. Tip-off is set for 7:00 pm.
How It Happened
-Heading into the second half with the game tied, 29-29, the home team came out of the break with a 10-0 run including a pair of three-point makes. Brooklyn stopped the bleeding on a lay-in finished by junior guard,
Jordan Wright, with 16:33 left to play.
-The Ducks led by as many as 13 points with 7:02 left in the second half. However, BC battled back and thanks to a 13-4 run capped by a three buried on the left wing by junior guard,
Michael Tesoriero, Brooklyn would only trail the Ducks 66-62 with 1:59 to play. Unfortunately for BC, Stevens knocked down a key jumper on the ensuing possession and ended the game on a 6-0 run.
-Brooklyn jumped out to a a 7-0 lead to start the contest, leading by as many as eight points in the first half. The Bulldogs never trailed the Ducks in the first twenty minutes of play.
-Stevens out-scored the Bulldogs 36-20 in paint and grabbed 13 offensive rebounds to BC's seven for the game.
Leading the Bulldogs
-Wright scored a team-high 14 points shooting 6-12 from the field.
-Tesoriero added 13 points, dished out four assists, grabbed six rebounds, and came up with two steals.
-Junior forward,
Jade Spencer, scored nine points to go along with a game-high 15 rebounds.
Leading the Ducks
-Alec DiPietrantonio scored a game-high 21 points and grabbed 13 rebounds.
-Ryan Coffey added 13 points and grabbed seven rebounds.
