BC Outlasted by John Jay on the Road

New York, NY---Trailing by a point, 28-27, at halftime, the Brooklyn College men's basketball team was outscored 37-25 in the second half to fall, 65-52, at John Jay College in conference play this afternoon. Brooklyn drops to 6-18 overall and 6-9 in CUNYAC with the loss while John Jay improves to 11-13 and 8-7 with the home victory.  The Bulldogs will close out the regular season in conference play at York College on Tuesday.  Tip-off is set for 8:30 pm in Jamaica, NY.  

How It Happened

-With the scored tied, 32-32, at the 13:30 mark in the second half, the home team went on a 16-0 run that Brooklyn wouldn't answer for the next seven minutes of play.  The Bulldogs came within as few as nine points in the final three minutes of play, but the Bloodhounds closed out the game with back-to-back successful trips to the free throw line in the final minute. 
-Brooklyn jumped out to an 8-2 lead in the first five minutes of play, thanks to back-to-back three-point makes buried by freshman, Noah Shy, and senior guard, Ben Batash.  The Bulldogs took their largest lead of the game (7) in the next minute before the home team went on a 9-0 run for the 13-11 advantage with 9:23 left in the first half.  The lead would go back and forth for the next seven minutes.  Sophomore guard, Michael Tesoriero, gave Brooklyn its last lead of the game, 27-25, with a three-point make with 1:45 left in the first half.  John Jay would retake the lead with a three-point make of their own with four seconds left in the half.
