Bulldogs too Much for John Jay

New York, NY---In its second-to-last game of the regular season, the Brooklyn College women's basketball team rolled to an 84-19 win at John Jay in CUNYAC play this afternoon.  The Bulldogs have won 14 of their last 15 contests.  BC improves to 21-3 and 13-2 in CUNYAC.  John Jay falls to 1-23 and 1-14 with the loss.  The Bulldogs close out the regular season in conference play at York College.  Tip-off is set for 6:30 pm in Jamaica, NY.  

How It Happened

-Junior wing, Alexandra Moogan, knocked down three three-point field goals to open the game for BC, giving the visitor a 9-2 lead with 8:17 left in the first quarter.  Brooklyn extended its lead to 29-4 to end the opening quarter. 
-The Bulldogs allowed just one Bloodhound field goal in the second quarter to take a 44-6 halftime lead. 
-There was no let-up for the Bulldogs in the second half as they cruised through the final twenty minutes of the contest. 
-Five Bulldogs reached double-figures in scoring including four BC starters.

-BC shot 41% 33-79 from the field for the game.
-Brooklyn forced 30 Bloodhound turnovers with 22 steals on the day. 
-The Bulldogs out-rebounded the home team 28-8 on the offensive boards. 

Leading the Bulldogs

-Senior guard, Karen Mak, filled up the stat sheet finishing with 16 points, 10 rebounds, 7 assists, and 4 steals. 
-Freshman forward, Chanel Jemmott, came off the bench to contribute 16 points and grabbing 7 assists.
-Moogan finished with 14 points and 7 rebounds, shooting 4-11 from beyond the arc. 
-Freshman guard, Taylor George, scored 12 points on 4-6 shooting from the field including 2-4 from beyond the arc. 
-Junior forward, Jasmine Hansgen, scored 10 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. 

Leading the Bloodhounds

-Christianne Perez scored a team-high 10 points.
