Brooklyn, NY---The Brooklyn College men's volleyball team rolled to their second sweep in a row this evening at St. Joseph's College Brooklyn, 3-0
(25-7, 25-14, 25- 16), in non-conference local action. BC improves to 3-5 with the victory while the Bears drop to 0-5. The Bulldogs open conference play on Monday at Hunter College where they will participate in their first CUNYAC tri-match of the season. BC takes on the host at 10:00 am followed by a match with John Jay College at 12:00 pm.
By the Set
-BC opened the match with a 5-0 lead, which included a pair of aces served up by junior setter, Sayuj Zachariah. The Bulldogs continued to cruise through the first set jumping out to a 15-3 lead following a seven-point rally.
-The home team reversed roles to start the second set, putting the Bulldogs in a 0-5 hole. Brooklyn responded with a 5-0 run of its own to tie the set. With the set tied 7-7, the Bulldogs took the lead for good with a 4-0 run, thanks to a pair of service aces and kill hit by senior middle hitter Moaz Choudhary. BC closed out the set with back-to-back kills including the set-winner finished by Choudhary.
-Brooklyn jumped out to a 5-1 lead to start the third set. The Bears would cut the BC lead to 7-6 before the Bulldogs rallied for three straight points for a 10-6 advantage. Already leading 17-12, the Bulldogs started to pull away with a 3-0 run.

-Choudhary finished with a match-high 8 kills, two blocks, and two service aces. Sophomore middle hitter Ahmed Moawad finished with 7 kills.
-Sophomore setter Michael Valentin served up a match-high 4 aces.
-Zachariah set for 15 assists.
-Senior opposite Flavio Perez and sophomore outside hitter Abrakali Aliyev finished with four digs each.
