Brooklyn, NY---The Brooklyn College softball team dropped both games of its conference doubleheader at home against Lehman College on Senior Day this afternoon. Lehman took the first game, 9-0, and ended the afternoon with a 7-0 victory over the Bulldogs. Brooklyn drops to 5-15 overall and 2-6 with the losses while Lehman improved to 8-21 and 4-4 with the victories. The Bulldogs travel to Sarah Lawrence on Tuesday, April 17th, for their final non-conference doubleheader of the season.
Lehman pitcher, Diamond Villegas, was lights out on the day, tossing a one-hitter in the first game and a no-hitter in the second contest. She finished with 34 strikeouts on the day.
The Bulldogs had Villegas on the ropes in the bottom of the first in the first game, loading the bases with no outs on BC's lone hit of the game, a bunt single laid down by senior
Breanna Maresca. However, Villegas quickly got herself out of the jam, striking out the Bulldogs' next three batters.

Uena Xharo, kept the Lightning scoreless through the first two innings of the first game. Lehman opened up its scoring the top of the third inning, scoring two runs on two hits and an error. The Lightning scored at least a run the next four innings, including a three-run seventh for the final score while Villegas was in cruise control.
Lehman didn't waste any time scoring to start the second game beginning with a leadoff in-the-park homer. Following a single, Lehman hit its second homerun of the inning to take a 3-0 lead.
Xharo kept the Lightning scoreless the next two innings before Lehman added a run in the top of the fourth on a RBI single. The Lightning added three runs in the top of the sixth inning including a two-run homer hit by Miranda Diaz, her second of the game.
