Brooklyn, NY---The Brooklyn College men's soccer team picked up its first win of the season tonight, edging out York College, 2-1, in the Bulldogs' conference opener on the road. BC moves to 1-7 overall while York drops to 1-6. The Bulldogs return home on Saturday, September 22, to host NYU in a non-conference match at 2:30 pm at Brooklyn College Field.
Junior back,
Bokkar Ka, scored the first goal of his BC career on a penalty kick in the 41' to give the Bulldogs a 1-0 lead heading into halftime.
Sophomore midfielder,
Brian Navarrete cushioned the BC's lead with the game-winner in the 57'. York responded in the 69' with a chip shot from five yards from goal. However, the Bulldogs' defense was able to hold off a late push by the Cardinals in the final ten minutes of play.
The teams were dead even in shots taken with nine a piece. York had a slight edge in shots-on-goal with five to BC's four.

Balint Barabas, picked up his first win for the Bulldogs finishing with four saves on the evening.
