Jamaica, NY---The Brooklyn College men's basketball team cruised to its second straight conference win at York College this evening, 88-62. BC improves to 11-7 overall and 6-3 in the conference with the win while the Cardinals dropped to 6-13 and 2-8. The Bulldogs continue conference play at Hunter on Friday at 7:00 pm.
How It Happened
-Trailing the home team, 14-6, in the first five minutes of play, the Bulldogs went on a 13-2 run to take a 19-16 lead with 11:35 left in the first half. York would retake the lead, 23-21, with 8:36 remaining in the first half before Brooklyn took the lead back for good with an 18-2 run, which included four three-point makes in a row.
-Heading into halftime with a 49-32 advantage, the Bulldogs would go on to lead by as many as 31 points in the second half.
-Brooklyn held York to 30% shooting from the field in the second half and 16% from beyond the arc for the game.
-The Bulldogs shot 10-21 from beyond the arc as a team for the game.
-BC turned its defense into offense scoring 31 points off of York turnovers.
Leading the Bulldogs
-Junior guard,
Orri Cohen, came off of the bench to score a game-high 18 points.
-Junior guard,
Michael Tesoriero, scored 15 points to go along with 10 assists for a double-double.
-Sophomore guard,
Nico Serrano, added 14 points.
Leading the Cardinals
-Akil Vaughn scored a team-high 13 points and grabbed nine rebounds.
-Darin Dove and Luca Tamer added 11 points a piece.
