Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

John Jay Golden Goal with 18 Seconds Remaining in Second Overtime Shocks BC, 2-1

Brooklyn, NY---Brooklyn Men's Soccer dominated much of play Saturday, holding onto a 1-0 lead for the majority of the contest, however John Jay did not quit, and with only six seconds remaining in regulation, the Bloodhounds were finally able to get on the board as Dilshod Baymatov found space on the left side of the box and was able to squeeze the ball past Bulldog keeper, Lorenzo Davies.  Both squads squandered a couple opportunities in overtime, and just as the game seemed destined to finish in a tie, Brooklyn's Menelik Kaza-Amlak would commit a serious foul in the box, warranting a red card and giving the visiting Bloodhounds a penalty kick with only 18 seconds remaining in the second overtime period.  Nicholas Towler would convert the kick, and the Bloodhounds would pull ahead for the huge comeback conference victory, improving their league record to 3-2, while Brooklyn falls to 2-3.

Match Summary

-Brian Navarrete scored Brooklyn's lone goal on a beautiful header from a cross by Randy Urgiles
-Davies had some impressive saves on the day, including a couple in which he used his height to tip away would-be goals. He racked up a total of 10 saves on the day.
-This is the second consecutive conference loss in which the Bulldogs led 1-0, only to fall 2-1.  The team will look to bounce back Wednesday vs. Medgar Evers.
