Brooklyn, NY---Battling for conference playoff positioning, the Brooklyn College men's soccer team came out with a scoreless draw after a pair of overtime periods against York College this afternoon at Brooklyn College Field. BC moves to 3-11-1 and 3-3-1 with the tie while York moves to 3-10-1 overall and 2-3-1 in CUNYAC. The Bulldogs close out the regular season at home on October 23 on Senior Night against the University of Valley Forge at 4:00 pm.
Match Summary
-A hard-fought match throughout, the Bulldogs had an opportunity for the victory early in the second overtime after BC was fouled in the box and given a penalty kick. However, York goalie, Jasper McLeod, made an exceptional play to deny the penalty kick, and then made another save on a rebounded shot taken by the Bulldogs.
-The Cardinals also just missed an opportunity of their own with a header just going wide towards the end of the first overtime.
-Brooklyn controlled possession in the first half, outshooting the Cardinals 8-2. The Cardinals had a slight edge in the second half, outshooting Brooklyn 9-8. York also outshot BC 3-0 in the first overtime. The Bulldogs would end the match with a 19-17 shot advantage.
