Patchogue, NY---For the second match in a row, the Brooklyn College women's volleyball team went the distance but eventually fell to St. Joseph's College Long Island, 3-2 (25-19, 25-21, 25-14, 25-23, 15-13). Brooklyn drops to 10-7 overall with the loss while SJCLI moves to 8-9. The Bulldogs will look to bounce back at home Saturday, October 12, as they host a CUNYAC trimatch and will play CCNY at 10am and York College at 2pm.
Match Summary
-Falling in the first two games, the Bulldogs rolled in the third game to stay alive thanks to a 10-score rally.
-Brooklyn dug deep again to keep the match going, scoring the final three points in the fourth game to force a deciding fifth set.
-With the fifth game tied 6-6, the Golden Eagles rallied for four straight scores. BC responded to cut the lead to 12-11 after a three-point spurt, but wasn't able to retake the lead.
-SJCLI was the slightly more efficient offensive team on the evening with a .068 hitting percentage to BC's .000.
-Brooklyn finished with 13 service aces to the Golden Eagles' three.
