Farmingdale, NY---Despite a career-high 33 points poured in by junior guard,
Noah Shy, the Brooklyn College men's basketball team fell in the final seconds in non-conference action at Farmingdale State, 68-67, this evening. BC drops to 0-4 to start the season while the Rams improved to .500 (3-3) with the win at home. Next up, the Bulldogs open conference play at home on Tuesday, December 3, against York College. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:15 pm following the conclusion of the women's game.
Game Summary
-Clinging to a two-point lead with 20 seconds to go in regulation after senior guard,
Michael Tesoriero, converted one of two free-throws, FSC's Ryan Kennedy, recovered a long rebound off of the Rams' first three-point attempt, and drained the game-winning three from the corner with eight seconds to go. BC's final shot at the buzzer didn't go and the home team hung on to the victory.
-Brooklyn led from the 9:59 mark in the first half until the Rams' final three-point make.
-The Bulldogs led by as many as 14 points in the second half following a three-point make buried by senior guard,
Orri Cohen, with 12:20 to go.
-With Brooklyn leading 59-50 with 6:19 remaining in regulation, the Rams got themselves back into striking distance with a 6-0 run capped by a three-point play at the 5:29 mark.
-Trailing the Rams 15-7 in the game's opening five minutes, the Bulldogs went on 10-2 run tying the game with 10:50 left in the first half. BC extended its run to 17-2 for their first lead of the contest.
-The Bulldogs' defensive pressure on the perimeter forced 21 Ram turnovers.
-Farmingdale closed down the lane most of the night finishing with 12 blocked shots as a team.
Leading the Bulldogs
-Shy shot 5-6 from beyond the arc and grabbed 11 rebounds for the game's only double-double. He also picked four steals on the night.
-Cohen added eight points while connecting two of four shots from long-range.
Leading the Rams
-Anthony Miller scored a team-high 18 points while shooting 4-8 from behind the arc.
-Jermaine Frazier chipped in 17 points to go along with eight rebounds. He also blocked seven shots on the evening.
