Old Westbury, NY---Despite a rally late in the contest, the Brooklyn College men's basketball team dropped a non-conference game at SUNY Old Westbury, 60-53, this evening. Brooklyn moves to 1-7 overall with the loss while the Panthers improved to 3-5. Tonight's game wraps up the first semester of BC's slate. The Bulldogs return home to the West Quad Center to host Centenary University on Saturday, January 4, at 1pm.
Game Summary
-With the Bulldogs clinging to a 13-12 lead to start the game, the home team went on an 11-0 run, grabbing a 23-13 advantage with 7:05 remaining in the first half. A layup finished by junior guard,
Noah Shy, pulled the Bulldogs within six points (27-21) before the Panthers responded with a 5-0 run to take a 30-21 halftime lead.
-The Panthers extended their lead to 13 in the first two minutes of the second half. Old Westbury would maintain a comfortable lead for the next eight minutes of play.
-Trailing 46-35 with a little over ten minutes to play, the Bulldogs went on a 6-0 run capped by a coast-to-coast fastbreak layup finished by senior guard,
Orri Cohen. Old Westbury responded with a 7-0 run of their own before
Anthony McClean ended the run with a three-point make.
-Find themselves trailing again by 12 points (56-44) with 2:42 remaining, the Bulldogs made one final push, cutting the Panther lead to 56-53 after a made three buried by senior guard,
Jordan Wright, with :48 left in regulation. However, that is as close as the Bulldogs would get as the Panthers converted four free throws to close out the contest.
-Old Westbury outscored the Bulldogs 14-2 on second chance points.

-McClean scored a team-high 19 points while knocking down three treys on the night. He also grabbed six boards.
-Senior guard,
Michael Tesoriero, added 11 points and came up with a game-high five steals.
Leading the Panthers
-Pedro Marquez scored a team-high 19 points while shooting 4-8 from beyond the arc.
-Pierrce Perry and Justin Alleyne-Washington added 12 points each. Perry added 11 rebounds and five blocks to his line.
