Bulldogs Fall Short Against Stevens

Brooklyn, NY---Despite leading by five points at the half, the Brooklyn College men's basketball team would eventually be outlasted by Stevens Institute of Technology, 78-68, at home tonight in non-conference action.  Brooklyn drops to 1-5 with the loss while Stevens remains undefeated with a 7-0 overall mark.  Next up, the Bulldogs cap their three-game home stand with a non-conference match-up against Manhattanville College this Saturday, December 7, at 3:15 pm.  

Game Summary

-Trailing 30-28 with 2:37 in the opening period, the Bulldogs went on a 7-0 tear to close out the first half.  Senior guard, Jordan Wright, capped the run with a made three in the final seconds of the first half giving BC a 35-30 halftime advantage. 
-The teams traded baskets before Stevens took the lead for good thanks to a 17-point run giving them a 57-40 advantage with 8:38 left in regulation.  
-Brooklyn battled back coming within seven points (64-57) with 3:58 to go, but the Ducks responded with an 8-0 run kicking the lead back up to 15 points with 1:50 remaining in the contest.  
-The Ducks shot 5-11 from beyond the arc in the second half to BC's 2-9.  Stevens also out-rebounded Brooklyn 13-7 on the offensive boards in the final 20 minutes of play. 
-Brooklyn forced 30 Stevens turnovers on the evening to their 25.  

Leading the Bulldogs

-Wright led the way with a team-high 19 points while dishing out four assists and coming up with four steals. 
-Senior guard, Michael Tesoriero, added 15 points to go along with six assists and three steals. 
-Senior guard, Orri Cohen, came off of the bench to score 10 points on 3-4 shooting from the floor and 2-2 from the charity stripe. 
-Junior forward, Joevanny Dambreville, also reached double-figures in scoring finishing with 11 points.  He also grabbed seven boards on the night. 

Leading the Ducks

-Four starters reached double-figures in scoring led by Alec DiPietrantonio's game-high 24 points.  He also grabbed 11 rebounds for the game's only double-double. 
-Spencer Cook added 19 points while shooting 3-5 from behind the arc for the night.
