Bulldogs Downed by Manhattanville in Tale of Two Halves

8hBrooklyn, NY---Leading by eleven points at halftime, the Brooklyn College men's basketball team wasn't able to withstand a second half push, eventually falling to Manhattanville, 62-60, in non-conference play at the West Quad Center this afternoon. BC drops to 1-6 with the loss while the Valiants improved to 4-2.  The Bulldogs will look to get back on track at Old Westbury on Friday, December 13.  Tip-off is set for 5:00 pm.  

Game Summary

-Paced by senior guard Michael Tesoriero's 11 first half points, the Bulldogs jumped out to a 12-2 lead to start the game.  The Bulldogs led by as many as 15 points in the first half following a made three buried by senior guard, Orri Cohen, with 1:34 to go.  
-Trading baskets through the first six minutes of the second half, Manhattanville connected on back-to-back threes to cut BC's lead to 42-38 with 12:56 remaining in regulation. Brooklyn responded with a quick 7-0 run sparked by a Tesoriero three and capped with a score in the paint finished by senior forward, David Melman, at the 11:00 mark.  
-With BC leading 51-43 with 9:27 remaining, the Valiants made their most important run of the game with an eight-point rally to tie the contest with 6:26 to go.  Following two Brooklyn made free-throws, Manhattanville took their first lead of the game with a made three at the 6:00 mark.  The Valiants would cling to a slim lead from that point on to close out the win.  
-Manhattanville shot 46.4% from the floor to Brooklyn's 25.8% in the second half while shooting 5-8 from behind the arc.  BC was 2-11 from three in the game's final twenty minutes. 

Leading the Bulldogs

-Tesoriero scored a team-high 21 points while shooting 5-7 from beyond the arc. He also grabbed seven rebounds and dished out four assists.
-Junior forward, Joevanny Dambreville, and senior guard, Jordan Wright, chipped in nine points each.  Dambreville also grabbed nine rebounds.

Leading the Valiants

-Jojo Cobbs exploded for a game-high 33 points and grabbed nine rebounds. 
-Mike Granda added 12 points while knocking down three treys for the game.
