Bulldogs Get Back on Track With Sweep of Lehman

Brooklyn, NY---The Brooklyn College men's Volleyball team snapped a three-match skid this evening sweeping Lehman College, 3-0 (25-17, 25-16, 25-17), at the West Quad Center.  Brooklyn improves to 6-9 overall with the non-conference win while Lehman drops to 3-11.  The Bulldogs will be on the road for a non-conference tri-match at Immaculata University on Saturday where they will take on the host and Elizabethtown College.

Led by junior middle hitter Gabriel Pjatak's 14 kills, the Bulldogs racked up 39 team kills to Lehman's 20.  Brooklyn finished with a .316 hitting percentage to the Lightning's .046.

After taking the second set in convincing fashion, the Bulldogs found themselves trailing 7-2 in the second set.  However, the Bulldogs steadily worked their way back into the game beginning with a three-point rally sparked by back-to-back kills put away by Pjatak and junior setter, Michael Valentin.  Valentin finished with seven kills on the night.  Brooklyn again found themselves trailing 14-12 before unloading for five straight scores to take the lead for good.  The Bulldogs closed out the second game with a 7-0 run capped by an ace served up by junior outside hitter, Jasper Diangco.  Diangco had a match-high five aces.

Freshman middle hitter, Omar Rezika, had a standout performance finishing with nine kills.  Senior setter compiled a season-high 33 assists for the match.

Lehman was led by Will Eschenbach's 13 kills.
