Bulldogs Split at Immaculata Tri-Match

Immaculata, PA---The Brooklyn College men's volleyball team picked up a split at a non-conference tri-match at Immaculata University this afternoon.  After falling to Elizabethtown College, 3-0 (25-19, 25-20, 25-19), the Bulldogs bounced back in the final match of the day to defeat the host, 3-0 (25-18, 25-13, 25-15).  Brooklyn moves to 7-10 overall on the season with today's results.  The Bulldogs will host their final regular season match on Thursday, March 21, in conference play against CCNY.  In addition to Senior Day activities prior to the match, it will be Homecoming Night with the first 125 fans receiving a FREE BC Athletics t-shirt! 

The Bulldogs were led by junior middle blocker Gabriel Pjatak's 30.5 points for the two matches.  In BC's win over Immaculata, Pjatak finished with a match-high 18 points on 14 kills while hitting .524, three solo blocks, and a service ace.  Freshman middle hitter Omar Rezika added eight points on five kills, a pair of service aces, and a solo block.  Rezika closed out the day with 12 kills.  

Brooklyn finished the win over the host hitting .211 to the Macs' -.013 on 36 team kills to 12.  

Despite the loss in the first match, Pjatak and Rezika combined for 23 points.  Pjatak put away nine kills and five blocks while Rezika added seven kills, two blocks, and two service aces.  Senior setter, Sayuj Zachariah, finished with team-highs in assists (19) and digs (17).  

E-Town's Nick Baxter put away a match-high 13 kills.  Joey Nelso and Tim Zieber led the Bluejays on the ground with 15 digs each.
