Brooklyn, NY---The Brooklyn College men's volleyball team fell in both matches of a CUNYAC tri-match today at the West Quad Center. This morning, Brooklyn fell to John Jay College 3-0 (25-22, 25-19, 25-22) before closing out the day dropping a 3-0 (25-17, 25-15, 25-19) decision to Hunter College. Between Brooklyn's two matches, Hunter defeated John Jay 3-0 to remain undefeated (4-0) in conference play. Brooklyn moves to 5-9 and 1-3 in CUNYAC with today's losses.
Brooklyn started the day with a 4-0 rally including a kill put a way by junior setter,
Michael Valentin. However, John Jay, responded with three scores of its own to turn the tables. The first match would be played closely, but the Bloodhounds kept a slight edge thanks to a three-score run to take a 17-14 lead and keep the lead from there on to take the set.
With the second set tied 8-8, John Jay went on a 7-0 run to take control the rest of the way. John Jay jumped out to a 5-1 lead in the third set. Brooklyn used a four-score rally to only trail 15-14 towards the middle of the set. However, John Jay would have an answer for every late Bulldog threat to close out the match.

Gabriel Pjatak, paced Brooklyn with 8.5 points on six kills and three blocks. Freshman middle hitter
Omar Rezika compiled 7.5 points on four kills and three blocks. Junior libero
Snigdho Hasan reached double-figures in digs with 11 for the match. John Jay's Anthony Francois paced both teams with 12 kills and seven block assists. The Bloodhounds' Dylan Senkiw set for 26 assists.
The Bulldogs would also get out to a hot start in their second match of the day against Hunter, grabbing a 9-5 lead in the first set. However, Hunter rallied late with six unanswered scores to take a 21-15 lead and closed out the set with two straight kills. Hunter rolled in the second set, jumping out to an 11-4 lead and never looking back. Brooklyn put up a fight in the third set against the Hawks, leading 14-12 a little more than halfway through set. However, the Hawks on a late 5-1 run for a 22-16 advantage and scored on a Brooklyn service error to end the match.
Pjatak once again led the Bulldogs against Hawks finishing with ten points on seven kills, two service aces, and a pair of block assists. Rezika added three kills, a solo block, and a service ace for five points. Hunter's Christian Maisonet paced all players with 17 points including 13 kills, two block assists, and three service aces.
