Newark, NJ---The Brooklyn College men's tennis team had its three-match win-streak snapped on the road this afternoon at Rutgers-Newark, 6-3. Brooklyn dips under .500 (5-6) with the non-conference loss while the Scarlet Raiders picked up their first win of the season moving to 1-6. The Bulldogs are back in action tomorrow, 4/13, at St. Joseph's Long Island at 1:00 pm.
Freshmen
Christian Pena and
Jonathan Lum gave Brooklyn its lone win in doubles with an 8-4 victory at the No. 2 slot. Lum was also victorious at No. 2 singles, defeating RUN's Alan Yu in three sets (6-3, 3-6, 10-3).
Brooklyn sophomore,
Justin Vasquez, gave the Bulldogs their other win in singles at the top spot, defeating the Scarlet Raiders' Sebastian Narath (6-3, 6-3).
