Box Score 2 Brooklyn, NY---The Brooklyn College softball team fell in both games of a CUNYAC doubleheader against Baruch this evening. Brooklyn dropped Game 1, 9-1 (Innings), before the Bearcats closed out the evening with another five inning win, 16-6. The Bulldogs drop to 2-18 and 0-8 in league play while the Bearcats improved to 4-12 and 4-6. Brooklyn continues CUNYAC play against York College in a makeup on Monday, April 22, at Padavan-Preller Field Complexd starting at 1:00 pm.
How It Happened (Game 1)
-The Bulldogs would get on the board first in the top of the first inning on a two-out RBI hit by sophomore outfielder,
Chanel Jemmott, scoring freshman infielder Kalya Trembone.
-Baruch responded in the bottom of the first inning with five runs on three hits.
-The Bearcats' starting pitcher, Victoria Kisling, would settle in after the first, hurling four hitless innings to close out the game. She finished with nine strikouts for the game.
-Baruch infielder, Kaitlyn Rivera, went to 2-3 with a double, scored two runs, and knocked in a pair.
How It Happened (Game 2)
-The Bulldogs got off to a great start scoring a pair of runs in the top of the first. Trembone would hit an RBI single to score junior infielder,
Leslie Lima, who led off the game with a single. Trembone would eventually score on an RBI ground-out slapped by sophomore infielder,
Melanie Garate.
-Baruch took the lead for good in the bottom of the first inning, scoring three runs on four hits.
-The Bearcats blew the game wide opened with a seven-run third inning on seven hits to take a 12-2 lead.
-Brooklyn wasn't done offensively for the evening as Jemmott crushed a two-run homer in the top of the fourth inning to score junior catcher,
Shakira Feliciano, who reached based on her second base-hit for the game.
-The Bulldogs added two more runs in the top of the fifth inning. Senior infielder,
Sienna Bacchio-Wilson, led off the inning with a bloop single and eventually crossed home on a wild pitch. Later on in the inning, Feliciano slapped her third single of the game to score Trembone.
-Feliciano was 3-3 with a RBI and scored a run.
-Kisling picked up her second win of the evening and fourth of the season hurling all five innings and striking out seven Brooklyn batters.
