Brooklyn, NY---The Brooklyn College men's tennis team pulled out an important 6-3 conference win over John Jay College this afternoon at home. Brooklyn improves to 4-5 overall and 3-1 in the conference with the win while John Jay drops to 2-4 and 1-3 respectively. The Bulldogs have another big conference match tomorrow against Hunter College at the US National Tennis Center at 6:30 pm.
Taking a 2-1 lead following doubles play, Brooklyn sophomore,
Rohan Mathur, cruised to a 6-0, 6-0 victory at No. 2 singles to get the Bulldogs off on the right foot. Freshmen,
Jonathan Lum and
Christian Pena, picked singles wins at the No. 4 and No. 5 slots respectively to seal the team win. Junior
Samuel Meyerovich won Brooklyn's final match of the afternoon at No. 6 flight singles.
