Brooklyn, NY---The Brooklyn College women's volleyball team improved to 2-1 in CUNYAC play this evening with a 3-0 (25-17, 25-17, 25-14) sweep of John Jay College at the West Quad Center. BC improves to 7-4 overall with the conference win while John Jay drops to 1-4 and 0-3 in CUNYAC. The Bulldogs return to their non-conference slate on Saturday, September 21, at tri-match hosted by Sarah Lawrence College where BC will play the host at 11am and Rutgers-Newark at 1pm.
Match Summary
-John Jay got off to a solid start to the match, jumping out to an 8-4 lead. However, the Bulldogs responded with a 6-0 rally forcing a John Jay timeout and taking the lead for good in the game.
-Leading 21-17, the Bulldogs scored four straight points to end the second game capped by a service ace served up by sophomore setter,
Ezri Shor.
-The Bulldogs rolled in the third game, jumping out to a 14-3 lead thanks to an 11-score rally.
-Brooklyn finished with 17 service aces for the match to John Jay's seven.
