Brooklyn, NY---The Brooklyn College men's soccer team lost their second heartbreaker in a row at home this afternoon, today to St. Joseph's College Brooklyn, 4-3, in overtime. Brooklyn drops to 0-6 to start the season while the Bears move to 2-6. The Bulldogs will look to bounce back on Monday at Purchase College for a 7pm match.
Match Summary
-Playing a man-down from 51' for the remainder of the match following a red card, the Bulldogs forced overtime in 79' on a penalty kick put away by junior midfielder,
Alex Sosa.
-The Bears ended the match in 94' on a rebound shot off of a goalie save.
-Brooklyn took a 1-0 lead in 13' as sophomore midfielder,
Alex Zecena, followed up a saved penalty kick save for the goal.
-SJC responded with a penalty kick conversion in 20' to tie the match for the halftime score, 1-1.
-The Bears took a 2-1 lead in 38' before Zecena scored his second goal of the match to tie the game, 2-2, in 51'. Less than two minutes later, the Bears would retake the lead on a goal hit just outside the top of the box.
-BC outshot the Bears 17-11 for the match.
