Brooklyn, NY---The Brooklyn College women's soccer team cruised to their second straight win via shutout, cruising to a 9-0 conference victory over Medgar Evers College at home this evening.  BC sophomore midfielder, Rachel Gomez, finished the match with her first career hat-trick.  Brooklyn moves to 2-5-1 overall and 1-1 in CUNYAC with the win while MEC drops to 0-6 overall and 0-1 in the conference.  The Bulldogs will look to keep their momentum going in conference play as they host CCNY on Saturday, September 28, at noon.  

Match Summary

-BC senior back, Aycin Yalcin, scored the game-winner in 6' on a header set up by a cross hit by junior midfielder, Paulina Vairo. Yalcin scored her second goal of the match on a penalty kick in 62'
-Gomez scored her first goal of the match in 12' off of a deflection inside the box.  She would go on to score the final goals of the match in 82' and 86' assisted by junior back, Jenny Toxqui, and senior, Carmen Proffitt who started in goal but moved to the field in the second half.  Proffitt also put away a penalty kick in 53'. 
-Junior midfielder, Jailene Lucero, scored her second goal of the season in 15' assistsed by junior back, Noemi Vazquez.  Vazquez also scored a pair of goals assisted by Vairo in 25', and by junior forward, Anna Curran, in 67'.
-The Bulldogs out-shot the Cougars 35-1 for the match.
-Proffitt and junior keeper, Kelly Davan, split the clean sheet.
