Staten Island, NY---Winners of their last two games, the Brooklyn College women's basketball team wouldn't be able to make it three in a row, dropping an 83-66 decision at the College of Staten Island this afternoon. Brooklyn moves to 8-5 overall with the loss while the Dolphins improved to 6-8 with the win. The Bulldogs will look to bounce back in conference play at home on Wednesday, January 15, against Baruch College at 5PM.
Game Summary
-With the teams exchanging buckets through the first quarter, the home team took a 21-19 lead with a pair of free-throw makes with no time on the clock heading into the second with a two-point advantage.
-The Dolphins opened the second quarter with a six-point run before BC freshman guard
Ericka James ended the scoring drought with a basket in the paint, cutting the CSI lead to 27-21 with 5:22 left in the first half. However, the Dolphins responded with a three-point make extending their lead back up to nine with a little under five minutes to play in the first half. CSI took a 39-29 lead at halftime.

Chanel Jemmott. Despite short Brooklyn offensive spurts, the home team seemed to have an answer, taking a 60-47 lead heading into the final quarter.

Ericka James gave BC life to start the fourth quarter with a three-point make on BC's first offensive possession. CSI would respond, kicking their lead back up to 14 points with 7:45 left in regulation.
-Trailing 73-61, the Bulldogs made one final push, cutting the Dolphins lead 73-65 following four straight free-throw makes capped at the 3:07 mark. However, the Dolphins would close out the contest with a 10-1 run.
-The Dolphins made the most of their 14 offensive rebounds, out-scoring the Bulldogs 19-4 on second-chance points.

-Jemmott scored a game-high 25 points on 10-15 shooting from the floor and 5-6 from the charity stripe. She also grabbed seven rebounds before fouling out.

Taylor George added 13 points to go along with a game-high three steals.

Dasha Goodman chipped in 10 points off of the bench.

-With five players reaching double-figures in scoring, Diedre Foster led the way with 17 points and 11 points off of the bench for the game's lone double-double.
-Jada Rogers and Megan McEwan added 16 points each.
