Staten Island, NY---Despite falling behind 1-0 early in the match, the Brooklyn College men's soccer team scored three unanswered goals to prevail over John Jay, 3-1, in conference play on Saturday. BC improves to 3-10 overall and 3-3 in CUNYAC with the victory, while John Jay drops to 3-9 and 2-4. Brooklyn will look for their third straight win on Wednesday at home on Senior Day.
Brooklyn would fall behind, 1-0, in 25' as the Bloodhounds' Samson Marwieh scored on an assist from Michael Fernandez. However, the Bulldogs found the equalizer just before the end of the first half, with
George Espinoza scoring his first goal of the match on an assist from
Luis Gomez in 44'.
The teams played to a stalemate for the first 25 minutes of the second half before
Roko Radovani scored the game-winner in 70' on an assist from
Randy Urgiles. Espinoza scored an insurance goal just seven minutes later to solidify the conference win.
Brooklyn was the busier team offensively all afternoon, out-shooting John Jay 21-8.
