New York, NY---Playing for postseason positioning, the Brooklyn College women's volleyball team got the job done this evening as they defeated CUNYAC foe John Jay 3-1 (25-16, 25-18, 21-25, 25-22), on the road. BC improves to 11-8 overall and 4-1 in CUNYAC, while John Jay drops to 7-10 and 3-2. The Bulldogs return to their non-conference slate at home against Rutgers-Newark on Thursday.
Brooklyn didn't waste any time in making a statement, jumping out to an 11-3 lead to start the match. The Bulldogs had a similar run in the second set. However, the home team didn't go away, rallying for six straight scores to take the third set.
Clinging to a 23-22 lead in the fourth set, freshman outside hitter
Aleah Rafat closed out the match with back-to-back kills. Rafat ended the match with 14 kills.
