Brooklyn, NY----The Brooklyn College women's volleyball team cruised to a conference sweep of CCNY on Senior Night on Tuesday. With the victory, BC closes out conference play with a 5-1 (13-11 overall) record and currently has a share of the regular season CUNYAC title with the tiebreaker to be determined. CCNY drops to 1-5 in CUNYAC and 3-13 overall. The Bulldogs wrap up their non-conference slate this weekend in a trimatch hosted by Rowan where the Bulldogs will take on Mt. St. Mary and the host.
Prior to the match, six seniors (
Alejandra Chen,
Rain Zhang,
Inesa Shimcani,
Laurie Lee,
Megan Ortiz-Mengedoht, and
Ezri Shor) were recognized by Head Coach Gotowicki. All six would play a role in the evening's victory with Zhang finishing with seven kills, Shimcani serving up a pair of aces, Lee coming up with 11 digs, Chen serving up an ace, Shor setting for a match-high 27 assists, and Ortiz-Mengedoht finishing with a match-high three blocks.
The Bulldogs cruised from the opening serve, hitting .333 to the Beavers' -.039 for the match.

Aleah Rafat lead the way offensively with a match-high 13 kills. Sophomore outside hitter
Ashley Fung led the way on the ground with a match-high 12 digs. CCNY was paced by Nadia Campoverde, Natalia Abreu, and Bianka Catral, who all finished with five kills each.
