Bulldogs Pick Up Split in Regular Season Finale at Rowan Trimatch

Glassboro, NJ---The Brooklyn College women's volleyball team closed out the regular season with a split at a non-conference trimatch hosted by Rowan University on Saturday. Brooklyn dropped a 3-0 (25-11, 25-19, 25-14) decision to the host in their first match of the day before defeating Mt. St. Mary College, 3-1 (20-25, 25-16, 25-19, 25-15) in their final match of the regular season. Next up, the 2021 CUNYAC Regular Season Champions host the winner of No. 4 John Jay and No. 5 CCNY in the semifinals of the CUNYAC Championship Tournament on Wednesday at 6pm.

After dropping the first set of the match to Mt. St. Mary, the Bulldogs re-grouped and rallied for four straight scores to take the second set. Brooklyn continued to control the match from there on.

Ashley Fung and Aleah Rafat offensively led the way with 15 kills each. Rafat added a pair of blocks and a match-high 18 digs to her line. Noa Young served up a team-high four aces for the match, while Ezri Shor set for a match-high 36 assists.

In the first match of the day, Rowan put together a 15-point rally after BC scored the first two points of the opening set. Brooklyn put together a four-point rally in the middle of the second set to cut the Rowan lead to 13-11, but the home team rallied late to keep Brooklyn at bay.

Rafat led Brooklyn with 9 kills. Rowan's Natalie Ogden paced the Profs with 10 kills.
