Randall's Island, NY---The Brooklyn College men's soccer team battled and created opportunities, but came up short in the second overtime period in conference play against Baruch, 1-0, Wednesday evening. Brooklyn drops to 1-9 overall and 1-2 in CUNYAC with the loss while the Bearcats improved to 3-4 and remain undefeated in conference play with a 3-0 mark. The Bulldogs will look to even their conference record this Saturday, October 9, at home against CCNY. Prior to the match, a short ceremony will be held to pay tribute to previous Head Coach, Joseph Andre, who passed away last November. Kickoff is set for 12pm.
An even match, throughout, the Bearcats scored the Golden Goal in 104' on a perfect through ball from Jemali Zarnadze to Cormac Foley who went in one-on-one for the game-winner.
Brooklyn finished the match with a slight offensive edge, out-shooting the Bearcats 8-7. Both teams had three shots-on-goal for the match.
Bulldogs senior midfielder,
Brian Navarrete, lead the way with four shots on the evening including a shot on goal where Baruch's goalie made an acrobatic save keeping the Bulldogs scoreless.
Brooklyn senior goalie, Uttku Tanritanir, had a long but solid night finishing with a pair of saves. Baruch keeper, Kellen Sela, recorded the clean sheet with three saves on the evening.
