Wayne, NJ---The Brooklyn College men's basketball team fell in non-conference play on the road on Wednesday, dropping an 81-50 decision at William Paterson. Brooklyn moves to 0-4 to start the season, while the Pioneers improve to 2-1 with the win at home. The Bulldogs will look to bounce back back on Friday in their first game of the Manhattanville College AJ Buchanan Tournament against the host at 8pm.
BC senior guard
Noah Shy paced the Bulldogs with a team-high 14 points to go along with six rebounds, three assists, and a pair of steals. Junior guard
Kayin Olajide added eight points and six rebounds.
Shooting woes plagued the Bulldogs as BC shot 25.9% from the field for the game. The home team outscored the Bulldogs by 20 points in the paint.
Trailing 9-0 to start the contest, the Bulldogs broke out of an early scoring drought to cut the Pioneer lead to 18-11 following a Shy bucket. However, the momentum immediately shifted back towards WPU following a 12-0 response. The Pioneers would lead by as many as 39 points in the second half.
WPU was led by Domenic Mignone's game-high 20 points, including 12 on four three-point makes on the evening.
