BC Rolls to Borough Victory Over St. Joseph's at Home

Brooklyn, NY---The Brooklyn College women's basketball team cruised in the second half to go on to defeat borough foe St. Joseph's Brooklyn 78-53 at the West Quad Center on Tuesday evening.  Brooklyn improves to 4-1 with the non-conference win while SJC drops to 0-4.  The Bulldogs will look to keep it going at Drew University on Tuesday at 7pm.  

Brooklyn junior guard Gianna Gotti lit up her stat line, finishing with a game-high 22 points, 11 assists, seven steals, and six rebounds.  Junior guard Ericka James also had a strong outing, finishing with 20 points while knocking down four from beyond the arc.  Senior forward Chanel Jemmott and senior center Sarah Labiner helped the Bulldogs on the boards with 10 rebounds each.  

Leading 14-12, the Bulldogs went on a 6-0 run to take an eight-point lead to end the first period.  The rally continued into the second period as the Bulldogs came out of the gate with a 12-0 run.  Brooklyn was on cruise control from that point on.

BC turned their defense into offense, scoring 30 points off of the Bears' 21 turnovers.  Brooklyn held the Bears to 24.2% shooting from the floor on the night.  

11 Bulldogs would log minutes this evening, including freshman forward Mary Dolgin, who finished with 10 points off of the bench.  

St. Joe's was led by Emma Kiley's team-high 13 points.
