Madison, NJ----The Brooklyn College men's basketball team suffered a tough road loss, 85-64, at Drew University before a three-week break in games on Saturday afternoon. BC drops to 1-10 overall with the non-conference loss while Drew improves to 4-5 with the victory. The Bulldogs will look to get some momentum heading into CUNYAC play they wrap up their non-conference slate at Ramapo on December 30.
Back-and-forth through the first eight minutes of action, the Bulldogs grabbed an 18-15 advantage on a lay-up finished by junior forward,
Andre Estrada, with 11:21 left in the first half. However, the Rangers would take the lead for good beginning with an 11-0 run.
Trailing by 10 points with 4:16 to go in the first half, the Bulldogs went on a minute 9-0 flurry on three straight three-point makes including a pair buried by junior guard,
Kayin Olajide to cut the Rangers' lead to 33-32. Drew responded with a 10-0 run of their own to take a 43-32 halftime lead.
The Rangers controlled the second half, shooting 50% as a team in the final twenty minutes and leading by as many as 26 points.
Olajidae and Estrada led the way offensively for BC, scoring 15 points each. Estrada also grabbed a team-high 8 rebounds on the afternoon. Sophomore guard,
Zuric Harvey, chipped in 13 points and dished out 6 assists. The Rangers had four starters reach double-figures in scoring led by David Gervase's game-high 21 points while draining five three-pointers on the day.
