Brooklyn, NY---Despite a solid start, the Brooklyn College Women's Basketball team fell to No. 21 nationally ranked New York University, 97-53, in non-conference play at the NYU Brooklyn Athletic Facility on Sunday. The loss snaps the Bulldogs' three-game win-streak as they move to 6-2 overall. NYU remains undefeated (8-0) with the win. Follow a three-week break, the Bulldogs return to their non-conference slate in the Stevens Tech Holiday Tournament where they will take on the host on December 29 at 1:00 pm.
BC stayed with Violets through the first period and took a 21-19 lead on a layup finished by junior guard,
Gianna Gotti with 11 seconds to go. NYU would tie the game to end the quarter.
The home team made its move right out of the gate in the second period with an 11-0 run before BC freshman forward,
Aleah Rafat, knocked down a pair of free-throws to cut the Violets' lead down to single-digits at the 5:23 mark. NYU would respond with another run, outscoring BC 28-4 in the second period to take a 49-25 halftime lead.

Chanel Jemmott, battled foul trouble all game and eventually fouled out by the end of the third period, finishing with 12 points and a team-high 8 rebounds.
Gotti led the Bulldogs with a game-high 21 points to go along with 6 rebounds and 3 assists. Rafat also reached double-digits in scoring finishing with 10 points.
NYU was led by Jenny Walker's team-high 20 points while grabbing 8 rebounds.
