Purchase, NY---The Brooklyn College women's volleyball team rolled to their second straight non-conference sweep at Purchase College this evening, 3-0 (25-12, 25-11, 25-17). BC improves to 2-1 overall with the win while Purchase dropped their Season Opener tonight. The Bulldogs remain on the road for a non-conference matchup at Maritime on Monday, September 13.
Only trailing twice the entire match, the Bulldogs put away 35 kills to the Panthers' 15 on the night. BC hit .198 on the evening to Purchase's -.146. Sophomore outside hitter,
Ashley Fung led the way offensively with nine kills. Freshman outside hitter,
Aleah Rafat, contiuned to show promise, adding eight kills.
Brooklyn dominated the service game finishing with nine aces to PC's three. Freshman libero,
Zoey Van Vleet, lined up a match-high four aces.
Trailing early in the third game, the Bulldogs strung together a late three-point rally capped by a kill hammered home by freshman outside hitter,
Noa Young, to pad BC's late lead.
Junior setter,
Ezri Shor, finished with a match-high 18 assists. She is now only 42 assists away from 1,000 for her career.
Sophomore libero,
Alanis Guinada, led the way defensively for BC with 11 digs. Purchase's Skyla Schoppmeyer finished with a match-high 14 digs.
