New York, NY---Taking control from the opening tip-off, the Brooklyn College women's basketball team cruised to a 94-46 conference win at Baruch on Wednesday night. Brooklyn improves to 8-2 overall and 3-0 in CUNYAC with the victory while the Bearcats drop to 2-6 and 1-1. The Bulldogs will look to continue their momentum to start 2022 in conference action at Hunter on Saturday with a 12:00 pm tip-off.
Senior forward,
Chanel Jemmott, led the way with one of her signature double-doubles finishing with 28 points and 13 rebounds, both game-highs. Junior guard,
Gianna Gotti, added 19 points to go along with five assists and seven steals.
The Bulldogs owned the inside on the evening, scoring 56 points in the paint. Senior center,
Sarah Labiner, flirted with the team's second double-double, finishing with 18 points on 7-9 shooting from the field and perfect 4-4 from the free-throw line.
Brooklyn jumped out to a 7-0 lead to start the contest and never looked back, taking a 50-26 halftime lead.
Junior guard,
Nancy Pham, was the fourth Brooklyn starter to reach double figures in scoring on the night finishing with 10 points to go along with five rebounds and four steals.
The Bulldogs had 21 steals on the evening and scored 28 points off of the Bearcats' 27 turnovers.
Baruch was led by Milly Ye's team-high 16 points. Melinda Spahiu had a double-double finishing with 12 points and 10 rebounds.
