New York, NY---Led by a double-double performance put out by senior forward,
Chanel Jemmott, who finished with 21 points and 21 rebounds, the Brooklyn College women's basketball team remained undefeated in 2022 with a 68-50 CUNYAC victory at Hunter on Saturday. Brooklyn improves to 9-2 overall and 4-0 in CUNYAC with their 24th straight regular season conference win. Hunter drops to 3-9 overall and 0-3 in the conference with the loss at home. The Bulldogs will look to keep their streak going on Wednesday as they return home to host CCNY at 5pm.
Despite trailing the Hawks 15-14 after the first quarter, the Bulldogs made their move in the second quarter, outscoring Hunter 22-7 to take a 36-22 halftime lead. BC freshman guard,
Brianna Gutierrez, provided a spark off of the bench during the second quarter run. She would finish with nine points, three steals, and three rebounds on the afternoon.
The Bulldogs would continue to roll in the second half, leading by as many as 24 points in the third quarter.
Brooklyn controlled the boards, outrebounding the Hawks 26-9 on the offensive glass. The Bulldogs outscored Hunter 15-3 in second chance points.
BC junior guard,
Ericka James, chipped in 11 points on the afternoon finishing three makes from beyond the arc for the game.
Hunter was led by Kimberly Lau's 14 points.
